Constance "Connie" Arlene (Caporale) Andeen passed peacefully on March 29 surrounded by the care and love of her family. She leaves behind her best partner and wonderful husband of 68 years, Alan Andeen, and her four children: David, Cynthia, and Wayne Andeen, and Susan and Tony (Andeen) Johnson of Georgia.

Born on May 26, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Lydia and Thomas Caporale, Connie summered in Higganum, and on the reservoir as a child she met her future husband. She would often tell people she loved him for many reasons, and one of them was he made her laugh — and Alan was her partner in crime and laughter throughout her life. They married and created their home in Higganum, raising their children and loving their grandchildren  —  Holden Andeen, Anthony (and his wife My) Andeen, Heather Conklin, Ethan and Zachary Johnson, and Amanda Andeen. Connie also had four beautiful great-grandchildren, Autumn and Eleanor Andeen, Jason Bladen, and Ryan Le.

She worked at Mt. St. John's Home and School for Boys in Deep River as a bookkeeper and was a communicant of St. Peter Church and member of the Ladies Guild.

Connie led a beautiful life. She always carried a little bit of Brooklyn in her — with a slight accent she never lost — and she combined that strength with compassion and kindness.  She was always there when she was needed, the first to reach out, the person willing to stand up for the people she cared for. Connie loved her brothers and sister, and their wonderful spouses — and her many nieces and nephews whom all carry memories of her, sense of fun and commitment to family.

She is survived by a brother, David Caporale of New York, and pre-deceased by sister Eljay Brookes of New York and brother Thomas Caporale of Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (April 3rd) at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown.  Burial will be in Burr Cemetery, Higganum.  Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the services.
