With great sadness and profound love, we announce the passing of Claire Ciochini (Clark) of East Hampton, Connecticut. Claire peacefully departed this world on August 4, 2026, at the age of 85, following a long illness during which her devoted husband, Don, stood steadfastly by her side. Her journey began in Hartford, CT, where she was born on September 1, 1940, to a family that would grow to include a close-knit circle of siblings.

Claire’s life was marked by strength, boundless optimism, and a deep affection for those around her. She was truly a people person—radiating warmth, laughter, and genuine care in every encounter. Her devotion to family and friends was matched only by her joyous love for animals and flowers; she delighted in nurturing life, never giving up on a struggling plant or turning away an animal in need. Sewing brought Claire hours of creativity and calm, and she cherished every moment spent surrounded by loved ones.

Throughout her career, Claire’s meticulous nature guided her in her work at Pratt and Whitney, where she served loyally for many years as an inspector. Later in life, guided by her determination and passion for learning, she went back to school for Medical Billing and worked in the field until her well-earned retirement. Claire’s professional journey was a testament to her dedication and adaptability, her ability to embrace new paths, and her unwavering work ethic.

Family was the heartbeat of Claire’s life. She is survived by her loving husband, Don Ciochini, whose unyielding support was a comfort to her to the very end, her son Robert, and her daughter Cindy Jordan. Her five sisters—Ruth Norton, Lindy Brown, Paula Oakliff, Carol Bowerman and Alice Valli, brothers Richard and Alan P. Clark, as well as many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews—remain to cherish her memory, holding close the bond they shared with Claire through every high and low.

Claire’s absence is also keenly felt by the memory of those who preceded her in death: her beloved children, son Burr and daughter Sheryl; her brothers Robert (Bobby), George and Gary Clark; and her sisters Jane Clark and Joan Rice. The threads that connect this close family are enduring, woven from years of companionship, shared stories, and unfailing love.

To those who knew her, Claire leaves behind a luminous legacy of kindness, perseverance, and joy. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and treasured, infusing every gathering with laughter and light. Her optimism was a source of hope and assurance for those fortunate enough to have known her well.

A visitation to honor Claire’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Biega’s Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, CT.
