Carole Mae Czepiel, age 90, a beloved resident of Higganum, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Aaron Manor Nursing Home in Chester.

Carole was born in Middletown, daughter of the late, Carl and Bernice (Kokoszka) Czepiel. Throughout her life, Carole served her community with dedication, working for the State of Connecticut in the Department of Social Services. She was also a devout member of St. Peter Church, where her faith was a guiding light in her life.

In addition to her professional and spiritual pursuits, Carole cherished time spent with her family and friends. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her. Carole's will be remembered for gentle spirit, her beautiful and bountiful gardens, filled with vegetables, flowers and many beautiful birds.

Carole is survived by her loving nieces, Diane Fitzpatrick, and her husband Jeff of Higganum and their dog, Lola Ann, and Kristin Barton, and her husband Brian of Haddam; great nephew, Kyle and great niece, Summer. She was predeceased by her brother, James Czepiel and his wife, Christie.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, (April 2nd) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Peter Church, Higganum. Burial will be in Burr District Cemetery, Higganum. Expressions of sympathy and online condolences may be shared with the family at biegafuneralhome.com.
