Carol
Nelson
Apr 15, 1943 — Nov 9, 2024
Middlefield
Carol Nelson, beloved mother, wife and friend passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024. Born in New Britain, CT to Walter and Anne Archacki, Carol finished her education at Penn State University where she met the love of her life and husband of 57 years, John.
Carol spent her life bringing goodness into the world and will be remembered by all for her unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and faith. She was involved in a variety of ministries at Saint Colman Church and at the senior center in Middlefield where she remained a steadfast volunteer for many years. Carol will always be remembered for having the gift for knowing when someone needed a note of encouragement, a cheerful bunch of flowers, or a kind ear. She was, without a doubt, a person of action not just words.
She is survived by her husband John; daughter, Jennifer and her husband Leonard; son, Scott and his wife Jackie; daughter, Joanna and her husband Brian. In addition, she leaves behind her four grandchildren, Anna, Abby, Matthew and Thomas and her dear friends, Irene and Sally. Carol was predeceased by her parents Walter and Anne Archacki and her brother Walter Archacki.
We would like to thank the staff members at the Village at South Farms, especially Raquel and Sherry for their loving care. In addition, we extend our gratitude to the medical team at Middlesex Hospice who brought her comfort in her final days. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Saint Vincent de Paul Place in Middletown, CT.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday Nov. 14th at 10 a.m. at St. Colman Church. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday Nov 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
