Bruce E. Barrett, Sr. 71, of East Haddam, Bruce is the husband of Katherine (Young) Barrett, (55 years together) he is extremely loved and missed, passed away on Sunday October 1, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital, with his wife and his dearly loved boys at his side. In the final weeks of his life, they were a tremendous source of joy, comfort, and peace.

Bruce was a quiet and private person and stayed strong through all his extremely painful health adversities. He became an overcomer by his love, faith, and trust in Jesus. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Edgar and Rose (Carta) Barrett. Bruce was a man of integrity, loyal, a very brave, caring and beautiful person inside and out. He made an impact on many lives.

He was a hard worker with everything he did, he especially loved working outdoors in his business, Crystal Clear Windows, which he ran with his wife. He was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved all his pets.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Katherine; sons, Bruce Barrett, Jr. of Durham, Edgar "Eddie" Barret and his wife Amanda of Durham; three grandchildren, Austin Barrett, Mazie McGill and her husband Wyatt, Trevor Pearson; and a sister, Eva Hafetz of MA as well as all his family and friends.

Funeral services were privately held. In Bruce's memory, spend quality time walking outdoors as he loved to do with his wife and his beloved Labrador Lucas, thank God for your life.  Always remember when life gets really difficult, do not be surprised at the terrible trouble that comes to test you, don't think God isn't on the job, we are sharing Christ's suffering, we will be filled with joy when He comes again in glory soon.
