Betty (Scionti) Pirruccio, 94, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Salvatore Pirruccio, died Monday July 13, 2026.

She was born on August 11, 1931 in Middletown, daughter of the late Angelo and Jennie (Augeri) Scionti. Betty is survived by her sons, David Pirruccio and his wife Barbara of Ivoryton, Robert Pirruccio of Middletown, daughters, Dona Lindsley and her husband Mark of Canton, Sally Ann Marchese and her husband Jeffrey of Middletown, grandchildren Kristin Linder and her husband Andrew, Nick Marchese and his wife Ioanna, Steven Marchese and his wife Dana, Anthony Marchese, Tyler Pirruccio and his wife Isabelle plus five great grandchildren, Dennis Tioukalias, Steven Marchese Jr., Eleanor Linder, Caitlyn Marchese and Wayne Marchese. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore and sister, Jane Gibson.

Betty loved being with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren. Prior to her retirement, Betty enjoyed working for the Middletown School system as a paraprofessional for many years. “Mrs. P.” always liked to see “her kids” all grown up and doing well in their lives. Betty was always ready for a night out playing bingo or going to a casino.
