Betty L. Kowalczyk

Betty L. (Harris) Kowalczyk, 83, of Middletown, wife of the late Walter S. Kowalczyk, III, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell after a brief illness.

Betty was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late, Kenneth E. and Elizabeth (Eldred) Harris. She was a communicant of St. John’s Church in Middletown. Prior to her retirement, Betty was employed as a cashier for Aetna Cafeteria Services and later for Flik.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Michelle Kowalczyk of Middletown, Kristine Kowalczyk of Middletown, her sisters-in-law Kathleen (Kowalczyk) (Brian) Kennedy and Christine (Loos) Harris and nieces Courtney Kennedy, Melissa and Sharon Harris and her faithful companion Teddy. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Harris.

The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell and Affinity Care Hospice for their compassionate care.

Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Saint John Church, Middletown. Burial will follow at the State Veterans’ Cemetery 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
