Barbara (Dale) Whalen, 81, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Allen R. Whalen, died Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Hartford Hospital.  Barbara was born in Middletown, daughter of the late, Samuel and Genevieve (Toomey) Dale.

Barbara is survived by a son, A. Russell Whalen of Middletown; daughter, Lisa (Santy) Magnano of Middletown; four grandchildren, Dale and Jessica Magnano and Courtney and Christopher Whalen.  She was predeceased by a sister, Carole Burtnett.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5th at 10 a.m. at the State Veterans' Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.  Calling hours will be Sunday, May 4th, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown.
