Arnold "Al" Lemon, 91, of Middletown, husband of the late Irene (Spack) Lemon, died Friday October 18, 2024, at Autumn Lake Healthcare, Cromwell after a long battle with Alzheimer's/Dementia.
He was born in Huntington, WV, son of the late James K. Lemon and Luvada (Bush) Lemon-Mitchell. A veteran of the Korean War, Al served with the US Navy from December 1950 to September 1954. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Union Welder and Pipefitter for the Plumbers Pipefitters Local in CT for many years. He professionally trained dogs for the movie Diamond Head in Hawaii. He also trained Bird Dogs for Field Trials here in CT. Al had a love for horses, golfing and the Red Sox.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Lemon of Middletown and Bruce Lemon and his wife Charlene of Higganum; daughters, Laura Daniels and her husband Marc of East Haddam and Kimberly Lemon of WI, sister, Maryhelen Bryan of OH, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Lemon and sister Dorothy Mitchell.
Graveside services with military honors for family and close friends, will be held on November 11th at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. There are no calling hours.
