Anthony Carangelo, 85, of Durham, beloved husband of Barbara (Zacks) Carangelo, passed away peacefully at MidState Medical Center on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late James and Trofimine "Phyllis" (SanMarco) Carangelo. Anthony proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy before beginning a 32-year career as a supervisor at Pratt & Whitney.

In retirement, Anthony and Barbara embraced their love of travel, visiting destinations around the world—including a memorable trip to China—and cherished their annual beach vacations in Montauk, New York.

Anthony is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; his son, Michael Carangelo, and wife, Teresa de La Guardia, of South Salem, NY; his daughter, Audrey Carangelo, of Brooklyn, NY; his sister, Phyllis Abbatello, of North Branford; and his granddaughter, Sabrine Carangelo de La Guardia.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Main Street, Durham. Burial will follow at Mica Hill Cemetery.
