Obituary

The beautiful courageous Anne Samhammer, 63, of Middletown, beloved wife of David Samhammer, Sr. Passed away on Friday May 1, 2026. Her tenacity and valiant spirit through her battle with leukemia showed her faith move mountains and inspire hope in everyone who met her. She is the daughter of the late Leonid and Lorraine (Janike) Repnin.

Anne was born in New Haven and grew up in West Haven where some of her best memories were fishing with her brother, John. She went on to graduate from Stone School of Business in New Haven, soon after finding a passion in landscape and start a successful landscaping business. Her home would always be cascading with flowers and whimsical garden pathways that attracted neighbors and passerby to stop and admire, even winning a beautification award.

Anne's ultimate love was her family, she was a devoted wife and mother. She met her husband David Samhammer in New Jersey where over the course of decades would explore the creeks of New Jersey with all of their children looking for sharks teeth and fossils. Her passion and talent for cooking fed her family creating beautiful memories and recipies. She also worked as a cook at her church and loved cooking dinner for the priests. Anne loved driving to Florida in the spring with her husband and kids to visit her brother Leon and sister in law Marlene, where they would all share great laughs and fun times.

Anne was a beautiful servant in Christ devoted to bring others to God and to pray. She was a parishioner of St. Pius Church in Middletown and was part of a beautiful healing ministry in Massachusetts. She was committed to her page on Facebook, inspiring many with her testimonies while creating a prayer community.

Anne's greatest accomplishment is the legacy she leaves behind, her husband and children who never went a day without feeling loved.

Anne is survived by her husband David and children Michael, Jessica, Daniel, David Jr. And Elizabeth, brothers Leon and John Repnin as well as nieces and nephews.
