Ann Jane (Monarca) McCormack passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT. She is the daughter of the late Sebastian V. (Morgan) Monarca and Rose Marie (Annino) Monarca. She is predeceased by her husband Jack (John) McCormack with whom she spent 57 years of her life with.

She is survived by her sons Michael McCormack, J. Robert (Cris) McCormack, her daughter Rose (Mike) Mazzarella of Portland, CT.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew (Lindsay) McCormack, Lauren (Lauren) McCormack, Kevin and Cara McCormack and Michael (Jessica) Mazzarella and Allison (Andrew Harris) Mazzarella. Ann had 6 Great Granddaughters and 2 Great Grandsons with one more arriving soon. She also leaves her sister Donna (Rich) Golub and sister law, Louise McCormack several nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she loved deeply. She was predeceased by her brother Sal M. Monarca, her brother and sisters-in-law, Pat and Joe Regan, Kay Rosano and Bernie McCormack

Ann was a lifetime member of the Middletown Community. She was very involved, back in the day, with the Democratic Party, working tireless hours campaigning for many years for many local and state elections. She was the Democratic Assistant Registrar of Voters for the City of Middletown for several years until her retirement. She quickly came out of retirement and worked part time in the Health Department for the City of Middletown as well. She totally enjoyed the energy of spending time and talking with people with whom she came in contact with throughout her life.

Ann was a member of The Emblem Club #452 and held many positions as an officer throughout the years. Spending many of her Sunday mornings working the Pancake Breakfasts and volunteering for many of the activities in which the organization supported throughout the community.

Her family would like to extend so much gratitude throughout her journey with COPD to Middlesex Family Practice, especially Dr. Domenic Casablanca and the love and care she received from the nurses, staff, and caregivers at Portland Care and Rehabilitation in Portland, CT.

Wake for Ann will be held Monday April 13th from 5-7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver St. Middletown.  A Funeral Mass will be held the next day April 14th at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Assisi (10 Elm St. Middletown) with a burial following at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
