Andrew Cubeta, 37 years old, son of Thomas Cubeta, and Jacqueline (Mackowitz) Cubeta, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Andrew was born in Middletown on Dec. 14th, 1988, where he attended local schools.

He leaves behind his dad who was his best friend and his mom who he loved dearly. He was a sensitive, intuitive, spiritual, wise, loving and loyal soul. He had many friends. Trevor, Kyle, Allie, and Malcolm to name just a few. He loved his grandfather, Angelo Cubeta and his grandmother, the late Phyllis Bruce and her husband Neely Bruce.

Andrew's aunt and uncle, John and Rosanne Bogdan loved him like a son and helped him throughout his life. They spoiled him (in a good way) on birthdays, Christmas, and other holidays. He loved swimming, sports, fast rides, chilling with his friends, his cats (Ariel, Angel, Fearless, and Noodles), movies, restaurants, and music. And he was an aspiring hip hop artist.

Andrew was a strong person and a fighter. In the last two years of his life, he contracted a severe case of Covid and pneumonia (twice) and had a heart attack. His heart stopped for 45 minutes before beginning to beat again. The doctors said it was a miracle. He was placed on life support three times with a small chance of survival. And each time, he walked out of the hospitals and nursing homes.

He was thrilled to be discharged from a nursing home four weeks ago and moved into his own apartment to be a part of the community. But he was struggling physically. And on Su day morning March 8th, Jesus decided to bring him to heaven. The guy with a heart bigger than Jupiter.

We will miss his smile, laughter, and spiritual talks. He touched our lives in a special way. He was unique and he will be missed by everyone that knew him, especially by his dad - his very best friend.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 20th at 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown.
