Alan J. Guire, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center where he resided after a tragic fall.

Alan was born and raised in Durham, CT. He attended Coginchaug Regional High School, going on to receive a bachelor's degree from Upsala College in New Jersey and a master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.  Alan worked as an LCSW for the State of CT in the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Department of Public Health and the University of CT Health Center.  His last place of employment was CHR in Manchester.

Alan leaves behind his partner, Paula Williams of Wethersfield, and his son Matthew of Manchester, along with his brother Donald and his wife Carol of Middletown and his sister-in-law Marian Guire of Baring, Maine.  He also leaves his ex-wife, Patricia Guire Zaprzalka, several nieces and nephews, along with his dog Chloe.  Alan was predeceased by his parents, Daniel Guire and Dorothy Ketchen Guire Hill, his brother Jeff of Baring, Maine, and his nephew Michael of Colchester.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chestelm for the wonderful care that Alan received during his stay and the kindness shown to him and his family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street, Middletown.  Friends may gather at the funeral home prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Mica Hill Cemetery.  To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
