Agnes (Maloney) Carr, 92, of Southport, wife of the late Robert Carr, passed away peacefully on Monday November 13, 2023. She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Grubbe) Maloney.

Agnes graduated from Laurelton Hall and Southern Connecticut State University College of Education. She was an elementary school teacher for many years at various schools in the Bridgeport area, taught nursery school in Westport, and was a substitute teacher later on.

Agnes' family and friends remember her as sweet, kind, warm and funny, and a good neighbor. Happiest at gatherings of all kinds, she was always smiling and laughing. She enjoyed game shows, music (especially Frank Sinatra) and her favorite treat was Resse's Peanut Butter Cups! She liked to do jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and always worked on the Sunday New York Times puzzle with her husband. On family road trips to Maine and Cape Cod, she collected and visited different lighthouses, and had special memories of her trip to Quebec, Canada.  As a member of the Jaycees, a civic organization, she volunteered and attended many events with her husband, and also donated her time as a poll worker on Election Days.

Agnes is survived by her two daughters, Susan Carr-Hudgins and her husband Arthur, Sheila Popp and her husband Jim, seven grandchildren, Jake, Jordan, Riley, Anna, Vivian, Nicholas and Alicia. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and sister, Margaret Navaken.
