Priscilla "Polly" Ann (Card) O'Connell, 64, of Middletown passed away on April 29, 2017 after a long struggle with illness. Priscilla died peacefully with her husband Paul at her side in the Middlesex Hospital hospice unit.

Priscilla lived in Connecticut her whole life. She was born August 25, 1952 in Hartford, grew up in Farmington, and later moved to Clinton. After getting married in 1975 she lived in Westbrook for five years and then moved to Middletown where she has lived for the past 37 years.  She graduated from UConn with a degree in French and then went back to school for her master's degree in elementary education.

Priscilla was a teacher in Westbrook public schools until she decided to take time off to have a family. She later went back to teaching and taught at Saint Sebastian's school in Middletown where both of her sons went to school. She taught there for many years teaching in almost every grade from Kindergarten to 8 ^th .

Priscilla was both kind and generous. She was devoted to her family which was always her top priority. She was great at cooking and doing crafts. She loved British mystery stories both in books and on television.

Priscilla was predeceased by her son Michael, her daughter Sarah, and by both her parents Cecil and Janet Card.

Priscilla is survived by her husband Paul and by her sons Matthew and Jonathan O'Connell of Middletown, her sister Candace Casale and Candace's fiancé George Sima of Haddam, her brother Robert Card and wife Adriana of Sugar Hill, Georgia. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, 6 aunts and uncles and many cousins.
