Nancy T. Montes, 71, of Durham, beloved wife of Joseph Montes, died Tuesday October 16, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Andrenyak) Barcheski.  Prior to her retirement, Nancy worked as a Medical Technologist for Norwalk Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital and Fairfield Hills Hospital.  She was a volunteer counselor for La Leche League and a long-time member of the Durham Fair Association. She took special and well deserved pride in her work in the Fruit and Vegetable departments.

Nancy enjoyed gardening, photography, baking and traveling; especially to our National Parks. Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Montes and his wife Linda of Middle Village, NY, Lisa Wetmore and her husband Matthew of Palm Harbor, FL, sister, Judi Beliveau of Bernville PA, four grandchildren, Sophia and Leo Montes and Elizabeth and Charles Wetmore, nephew, Scott Beliveau and his wife Ashley, niece, Jackie Baker and her husband David. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Dennis Beliveau.

A Words of Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday (October 20 ^th) at 4:30 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown.
