Anne Riordan

Anne (Coughlin) Riordan, 86, of Westfield St., Middletown, beloved wife of John E. Riordan, Sr., died Friday March 23, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Robert Emmett and Gertrude (Wagner) Coughlin. Prior to her retirement, Anne was a teacher at Mercy High School, Middletown from 1973 to 1993. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church, Middletown and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pius X Church and Middlesex Hospital.
Besides her husband, she is survived by sons, Charles “Chip” Riordan and his wife Yolanda of Highland, MD, John Riordan, Jr., of Wallingford, and Timothy Riordan and his wife Lori of Marietta, GA; her daughters, Kathleen Riordan of Los Angeles, CA, and Anne Tunnell and her husband Richard of Denver, CO; two brothers, Richard Coughlin of Cromwell, and Thomas Coughlin of Portland; two sisters, Eunice Martel of Lewiston, ME and Cora Bindler of Shelter Island, NY; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Robert Coughlin; and a son-in-law, Charles Lemmer.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Burial will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy High School, c/o Development Office, 1740 Randolph Rd., Middletown, CT 06457.
