Shirley (Washburn) Smith, 82, of Durham, beloved wife of the late Tyler A. Smith, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Maple View Manor in Rocky Hill.

     She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late George and Catherine (Baxter) Washburn.

     Shirley is survived by her daughter Carol Anderson-Washington of Higganum, a sister Hazel Claire Washburn, two grandchildren, Christopher and Kate Anderson of Higganum and several nieces and nephews.

     The funeral service will be held Thursday at Noon at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. Burial will be in Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River. Friends may call prior to the service from 11 to 12 p.m. on Thursday at Biega Funeral Home.
