Cheryl ”Sherry” Formica, 64, of Westfield St., Middletown, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle on Sunday August 26, 2012 at Water’s Edge Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Louis S. and Dorothy (Kelly) Formica. Cheryl worked many years ago at Raymond Engineering. She was loved by all those who met her she had so much charisma. She was an avid Red Sox and Cowboys fan.
She is survived by her sisters, Frances Wibby of Middletown , Karen Nichols of East Hampton, Roseanne Sapula and her husband Ray of South Windsor, Patricia Formica of Cromwell, Carmela Barratt and her husband Robert of Middletown, Dorothy Formica and fiancé Charles Tucker of Cromwell, and Marion Page and her husband Robert of Middletown ; her brothers, Daniel Formica and his wife Barbara of Mechanicsville, NY, Salvatore Formica of Middletown and Louis Formica of Middletown ; seven nieces, eight nephews, three great nieces and five great nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday (Sept. 1st) at 10 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Middletown. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Biega Funeral Home in memory of Sherry to assist with burial expenses.
