Antoinette (Maltese) Cronin, 81, of Middletown, wife of the late John Cronin Sr., died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Aurora Senior Living Center of Cromwell. She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Massarelli) Maltese. She resided in Middletown all her life and was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Antoinette is survived by a daughter, Sharon Daoust and her husband Jerry of Middletown, a granddaughter, Melissa Daoust, two brothers, John Maltese and his wife Marie of Old Saybrook, Kenneth Maltese and his wife Janet of Middletown, two sisters, Anne Adduci of Meriden, Patricia Byrne and her husband, the Honorable John M. Byrne of Cromwell, and two sister-in-law Grace Maltese of Middletown Terry Maltese of Middletown and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, John Cronin, Jr., four brothers: Thomas, Vincent, Richard and Corrado Maltese, five sisters: Frances Samsel, Mary Siedorok, Carmelina Surowiecki and twin sisters Paula and Salvatrese Maltese.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown.
