Michael J. Lambe, M.D., 72, of DeKoven Drive Middletown, died at his home on Monday, April 23, 2012.
He was born January 21, 1940 in Darlaston, England, then raised in Belfast, N. Ireland. Michael was the son of the late Dr. Thomas E. Lambe and Elsa-Mary (Lunt) Lambe and step-mother, Dot Lambe. Michael graduated with a Medical Degree from Queens University in Belfast and owned and operated the Everyday Medical Center in New Britain.
He is survived by his three children; Ethna Lamontagne and her husband Robert and their children Macie and Brae of Rocky Hill, Aidan Lambe and Karen Keopke of Winter Park, FL and David Lambe and Bethany Hunt of Haddam; his brothers, Dr. Thomas Lambe and his wife Debbie of CT, Gerald Lambe and his wife Susanna of England, Christopher Lambe and his wife, Mary of England; his sister Elsa-Mary (Lambe) Krachman and her husband Bob of Massachusetts, his sister in law, Hedy Lambe of FL, cousins Eileen Kennedy and Geraldine Merron of N. Ireland and a large circle of family in N. Ireland. He was predeceased by his brother Patrick.
Funeral services will be private. Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown has care of the arrangements. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to The Community Health Center, 635 Main Street, Middletown, CT 06457, where Michael was a founding inspiration to the “free health clinic” now called the Community Health Center, which is celebrating its 40th year.
